

Privately owned Stockport glass specialist, Cheadle Glass, has appointed Gerard Hickie as managing director.
Hickie has been brought in by the board to deliver the next stage of the companys development as it enters its forty third year in business. Owner Keith Flowers takes up the new position of chairman of the company.
A qualified engineer, Hickie also holds a post graduate degree in business administration and has more than twenty years experience in consumer goods and manufacturing.
Commenting on his appointment, Hickie said, Cheadle Glass has a strong track record of delivering quality glass products and glazing services through a highly skilled and dedicated workforce. I am excited to have the opportunity to grow the business further, part of which will involve expanding our area of operations beyond the North West.
Keith Flowers said, Gerard has a strong track record in business and brings with him a wealth of experience in the manufacturing sector. He is a great motivator and I have no doubt that he will deliver the ambitious growth targets we have set.

Cheadle Glass has its origins in the domestic glazing market and this remains a significant sector for the company. It is also a major processor of glass and has a commercial glazing division supplying a range of bespoke products working alongside architects, specifiers and developers.
