Rugby Star Drops into Cheadle Glass
Even Marc Jones, the 6ft 2 tall Sale Sharks rugby star, was dwarfed by the scale of an incredible new glass picture currently on display in the showroom of Stockport glass specialists, Cheadle Glass. During his recent visit to the company Marc was impressed by the vibrancy, definition and sheer size of the new Pictures on Glass product which uses a technique pioneered by the company.
Marc was visiting the showroom with Duncan Armstrong of Kingfisher Graphics in Stockport who sponsor Sales Sharks and whose company is working alongside Cheadle Glass in creating these fabulous works of art.
Pictures on Glass enables the printing of photographs and images onto 6mm glass panels which can be fitted with stand-off brackets to give a 3D effect when affixed to a wall. The product has already caught the eye of commercial interior designers wishing to make an artistic statement on a large scale as well as individuals looking for a contemporary method of displaying personalised photographic art in the home.
Whilst Welshman Marc is a safe pair of hands on the rugby pitch, he does recall breaking quite a bit of glass as a youngster during his upbringing in Pontypridd. Cheadle Glass Managing Director Keith Flowers explained why this wouldnt be a problem with Pictures on Glass. He explained:
This is primarily an object of art that creates a panoramic backdrop in any room. However, when glass is involved, safety and durability are also important factors and so, needless to say, this glass artwork uses specially toughened glass.
Prices for Pictures on Glass start from £239. For more information visit www.cheadleglass.com or contact Cheadle glass on 0161 480 6644.
