Cheadle Glass designs, manufactures and installs a wide variety of coloured glass splashbacks and glass panels/cladding for a broad range of commercial applications including offices, retail and healthcare. They also supply coloured glass splashbacks to the domestic market.
The stunning coloured glass panels are back painted and can be made in practically any colour and to any size to suit your glass splashback or glass panel requirements. For a truly personalised look graphic images can be incorporated into the glass panels, all you have to do is select an image or design.
The coloured glass used is toughened for heat and is impact resistant. Cheadle Glass can provide a supply only or supply and fit service for its glass splashbacks and glass panels. Holes or cut-outs (for electrical sockets for example) can be easily incorporated, as can shapes.
Cheadle Glass splashbacks are typically fitted in kitchens behind the hob and glass panels can be used as a general wall covering and in bathrooms, wet rooms and shower cubicles.Glass splashbacks are usually produced in 4mm or 6mm glass but can be produced in glass up to 19mm thick, if required.
Cheadle Glass typically uses low iron glass for coloured glass panels and splashbacks as it is more optically clear than standard float glass, allowing the true colour of the paint to show through the glass without discolouration.Cheadle Glass’s splashbacks and glass panels are available in a wide range of colours. The back of the glass is painted and, amongst others, you can choose from the following colour options:
We can also match other colours and will produce a sample for you to approve for a small charge. The charge is refunded once the order is placed.
Coloured glass splashbacks and glass panels are also available in a sandblasted finish or can be produced in clear glass to suit your requirements
Cheadle Glass can produce splashbacks and glass panels up to 3 metres long and in various heights. Our CNC machines allow us to cut holes for plug sockets and light switches and we can also cut drill holes. The sophisticated machinery also allows us to shape the glass to achieve curves, ‘L’ or ‘T’ shapes.
Any glass which is in proximity of a heat source (cooker, hob) needs to be toughened before the paint gets applied to make sure the glass can withstand any residual heat from the appliances.
If a shaped piece of glass is needed or cut-outs and/or holes are required, an mdf template needs to be produced to ensure a good fit.
Glass splashbacks and panels can be also produced from CAD drawings. Most glass splash backs are adhered to a prepared wall using an appropriate adhesive. They can also be drilled and fixed to the wall using appropriate screws, allowing them to be taken off the wall at a later date.
When fitting glass splashbacks or panels with a high degree of translucency the wall should be pre-painted to a suitable colour to eliminate ‘show through’.
